High (anticlinal)

A geologic term for the highest part of a structure where the likelihood of finding oil or gas is greatest.

Horizon

A particular rock or marker zone which can be correlated from well to well.

Hydrocarbons

Organic chemical compounds of hydrogen and carbon atoms forming the basis of all petroleum products. They may exist as gases, liquids, or solids. An example of each is methane, hexane, and asphalt.
